MAGNETIC CHUCKS - AVAILABLE IN 4" & 5"

STANDARD POLE

This magnetic chuck suitable for use in thin or medium grinding applications. The unit utilizes an earth magnetic circuit, and metal top plates.

A magnetic round chuck, also known as a magnetic rotary chuck or magnetic round table, is a device used in machining operations to hold and secure ferromagnetic workpieces during the machining process. The primary purpose of a magnetic round chuck is to provide a strong and reliable method of workholding.

Here are some key purposes and benefits of using a magnetic round chuck:

  1. Workpiece stability: The magnetic field generated by the chuck creates a strong attraction between the chuck and the workpiece. This ensures that the workpiece remains securely in place, even during high-speed machining or heavy cutting operations.

  2. Easy positioning: The chuck allows for quick and precise positioning of the workpiece. Once the workpiece is placed on the chuck, it can be easily rotated or indexed to the desired angle, facilitating multi-sided machining or operations requiring precise angular positioning.

  3. Accessibility: A magnetic round chuck provides unrestricted access to the workpiece, as there are no clamps or fixtures obstructing the machining area. This allows for efficient machining of various surfaces without interference.

  4. Versatility: Magnetic round chucks are compatible with a wide range of workpiece shapes and sizes, as long as they have sufficient ferromagnetic properties. This versatility makes them suitable for a variety of machining applications.

  5. Enhanced productivity: The fast and efficient workpiece clamping provided by a magnetic round chuck reduces setup time and enables faster workpiece changes. This can result in improved productivity and increased throughput in machining operations.

It's important to note that magnetic round chucks are specifically designed for use with ferromagnetic materials, such as iron or steel. Non-magnetic materials, such as aluminium or non-ferrous alloys, cannot be effectively held using a magnetic chuck and would require alternative work holding methods.
