Description

Carbide Tipped Slitting Saw - 3" x 3/16" x 1" Bore [16 Teeth]

Aprica Brand - High quality

Quality slitting saw made to ISO Standards

1. Much Longer Tool Life - Carbide holds an edge far better than HSS.
It resists abrasion and wear, so you get significantly more cuts before the teeth dull—useful on abrasive materials like stainless, titanium, cast iron, or composites.

2. Higher Cutting Speeds (SFM) Carbide handles heat far better than HSS, allowing:
Higher spindle speeds
Faster feed rates
Shorter cycle times

3. Maintains Sharpness at High Temperatures Carbide doesn’t soften when it gets hot. This means:
Cleaner cuts
Less burr formation
Less rubbing/heat marking on the part
Especially useful in thin-wall or delicate work where tooth sharpness matters.

4. Better Rigidity and Tooth Strength Carbide teeth are much harder and resist deflection. This gives:
More accurate slot width
Smoother sides on the cut
Less chance of tooth chipping compared to HSS in tough materials (assuming rigid setup)

5. Handles Hard or Tough Materials Carbide is ideal for:
Stainless (300/400 series)
Tool steels (even hardened)
Titanium
Inconel / superalloys
Cast iron

6. Reduced Coolant Dependence
Carbide performs better dry or with minimal lubrication, depending on material—handy when flood coolant isn’t ideal.
7. Better for Production / Repeatability
Because the teeth stay sharp longer, the slot width stays consistent over many parts.
