How to use:

  1. Identify the screw thread you wish to measure. This could be a standard thread or a custom thread that you've cut yourself.

  2. Place the screw cutting gauge onto the threaded surface so that the teeth or notches on the gauge match up with the threads on the screw.

  3. Adjust the gauge until it's snug against the threads. Make sure the gauge is straight and not tilted at an angle.

  4. Check the markings on the gauge to determine the pitch and angle of the screw thread. Some gauges may also include additional information, such as the diameter or type of thread.

  5. Take note of the measurement and use it to help you select the appropriate tap or die for cutting threads of the same pitch and angle.
